It's time to celebrate! We've made it through the long, dark winter, and it's springtime now! Here at The Journal Club, we're so excited for sunny picnics, warm evenings, and summer get-togethers. Spring is a time filled with potential and new beginnings. It's the perfect time to start journaling! Whether your 2026 has got off to a good start or not, why not use this time to check in? It's always fun to see what else you want to achieve. There's so much creative inspiration in nature and all around. We recommend using our Junk Journal sticker prompts to inspire fun activities - here are a few of our spring favourites:
A Concert
With festival season just around the corner, we can’t wait to fill out this journal spread! Maybe you’re mourning the loss of Glastonbury this year, or you’ve just got your tickets to Olivia Dean? No matter who you’re going to see, concerts can be a really great prompt for creating a memorable journal spread. Attending a concert is about so much more than just the music. The anticipation and straining your ears to hear the artist as you walk to the venue is unforgettable. Having a shared experience with everyone else in the crowd is also so magical. In terms of what you can collect for your junk journal, why not try picking up these items:
- Your entry ticket/entry wristband
- Labels from drinks or food bought at the event
- A cut out of your favourite lyrics
- Confetti or decorations from the show
Cold Drink
Although we’re huge fans of curling up with a mug of tea in the evenings, sometimes a cold drink is exactly what you need. And it's also great to have a fun drink while filling out your journal. Maybe you have a memory of a refreshing lemonade on a hot summer’s day? Maybe even a fun smoothie that reminds you of a brunch you had with friends? There’s just something about a hot day that lends itself perfectly to a refreshing drink. Why not try a matcha or ube flavoured drink to let you travel without having to leave your hometown? This is a really fun spring spread to add to your journal.
Something You Baked
Spring is a fantastic time to start baking! The warmer weather means there’s no more waiting around for stone cold butter to melt - it’s already ready! While your bakes are in the oven, why not make a fun journal spread to go alongside your sweet treat? Some classic spring flavours include almond, lemon, and raspberry. We’re big fans of using seasonal ingredients, so make sure to look up seasonal fruit and veg near you. As well as providing you with yummy treats, baking can also be an excellent way to unwind and destress. Our favourite Spring recipes at the moment are:
A Holiday
Maybe you’re in the midst of planning your summer holiday, or maybe you’ve made the most of the long bank holiday. In any case, this is the perfect time of year for a quick getaway to sunnier climes, and to log it in your journal. Use your plane ticket, any booking references, and a travel guide as the basis for your junk journal spread. After that, go crazy! Collect any bit of ephemera you see, from the receipt of your first holiday purchase, to the bill from a nice dinner. If your holiday is more DIY, then maybe print off some recipes you cooked, or even do some doodling of your experiences. If you’re super committed to the holiday lifestyle, check out our
Travel Journal Scrapbook. Perfect for preserving photos, notes, and mementos, this is a must-have for any travel enthusiast.
Spring
And if you can’t make your mind up, why not try doing a general spring junk journal spread? This time of year is so lovely for noticing the new blooms in nature and beyond. Maybe put in pictures of any spring cleaning you’re doing? We love the idea of a lamb running across the pages to represent new beginnings! There are no rules - your spread needs to represent you, and how you feel about spring. There are so many different indoor and outdoor activities you can do. The possibilities are endless.
We hope this post has made you as excited for Spring as we are. Let us know how you get on with creating your own Spring Bucket List. We can’t wait to see your junk journal spreads! If you’re looking for more tips and inspo, check out our other blog posts. Happy journaling!
