2026 Monthly Journal Set Up

How To: Set Up Your Monthly Pages

Are you looking to make your bullet journal more creative? Maybe you want to try out some new layouts for your monthly spreads? The Journal Club is here with some suggestions to help you organise yourself in a fun and efficient way. If you still haven’t got your official 2026 journal yet, be quick! They won’t be restocked once they’re sold out. They’re currently on sale, so get one while stocks last!

Cover Page and Self Care Bingo

The cover page is yours to use as you please! We like colouring in the template with colours that relate to the theme (eg. using blues and greens for June’s Sharks and Rays theme, or a monochrome theme for October’s Chess design). The mini calendar on the cover page is just to have a reminder of the layout of the month.

Maybe try highlighting important dates in your journal, such as holidays, term dates, or birthdays. The Self Care Bingo is one of our favourite pages of the monthly spread! The best way to use this is to fill in the bingo card with nine activities you’d love to do this month. Try ranging the goals from more achievable things, to completely aspirational things - it’s nice to have something to look forward to. A few examples we’ve used are:
  • Have a lie-in and wake up later than usual
  • Do a random act of kindness to a stranger
  • Make a vision board
  • Listen to new music
  • Call a friend
  • Bake something

To make it even more fun, why not come up with some rewards for your self care bingo? Once you’ve hit bingo, make sure you’ve got some treats ready to say well done. Feel free to cater your prizes to whatever you want!

The ‘Goals’ section can be used as a breakdown of your yearly goals, or you can set new ones! Try picking a category for each month (eg. financial, academic, personal, career, romance), and writing down three goals. This will help keep you on track for the month.

Sleep Tracker

Sleep Tracker & Daily Rating Pages
Sleep trackers are a really fun way to keep yourself accountable, and to have a record of how you’re doing on sleep for an entire month. You can try to spot trends, or just keep track! We recommend playing around to see what set up works best for you!

The bar graph type of tracker is fun because you can track not only how long you slept each night, but when you woke up and went to bed! Every morning, colour in the squares starting with when you fell asleep, and ending with when you woke up. You can draw lines between these two points or colour in each square - it’s totally up to you. If you want a colourful spread in your journal, try filling in the sleep tracker using the same colours you’re using for your daily rating page!

Although each tracker in the undated journal has 31 days on it, you can use it for whatever month you need, either disregarding the extra days, or use them if the month is longer.

Blank Spread

This blank spread can be used for anything you like. If you like having a spare page, you can use it as a brain dump, writing down anything and everything you think during the month. If you want more space to track habits and plan, try using some of our extra printables. Some fun ones that would fit perfectly are our Monthly Fitness Goals Tracker, our Reading Log, or our Movie Tracker.

Monthly Journal Overview

The Monthly overview in your journal can be used however you like! We recommend taking some time at the end of every month to make it intentional. Try thinking about what you enjoyed in every month, and what you didn't like so much. You can then use this in the next month to make things even better! It's fun to look back on at the end of the year, and see how you improved.

So that’s our guide to using the monthly pages in our 2026 journal . All of these tips still apply to our Undated Journal as well! There are so many different ways you can use your journal , but we hope this blog post has given you some good ideas to get started. Happy journaling!
